The Studio Edge: Pro Audio Recording Series

The Studio Edge: Pro Audio Recording Series I’m proud to announce that the first DVD of my educational series, The Studio Edge: Pro Audio Recording Series, is finally shipping. This first installment, titled Studio Concepts, Gear & the Physics of Sound, is a detailed journey through the fundamentals that are essential to audio engineering. This is a landmark achievement for me, as it is a culmination of my knowledge, experience, hundreds of hours in scripts, edits, lights, teleprompters, and my desire to give back to a world that has given a lot to me throughout my lifetime.

In this first DVD, I cover all of the key concepts and explain in easy to follow terms what you need to know to record great audio. Not only that, but with over 100 visual aids from my friends at ASK Video, you’ll see these important concepts in action.

If you’re an aspiring audio engineer who desires the knowledge and skill to becoming a great audio engineer, this video is for you. The information in this DVD is crucial to your success in the studio, and will teach you from the ground up all of the concepts and principles essential for every sound engineer.

Today we did the performance of the samples included with the DVD. Creating drum loops etc… Then Mr. Ancona came down to do product shots. We even got a few full control room shots. Awesome!

Check out this phat groove boys!

Today we wrapped up all the dialog. (A lot of you did not know I actually talk, did ya.) I even filmed in the load in area, with my full soldering bay, including goggles! (Just for the ladies!) Then, I got to lay down some grooves, for the drum mic technique area. Sweet!

Video Day 3

The Cable Room

The Cable Room: If I pretend I am serious, people wil think I am a newscaster. Cool.

Today we moved around a bit with the camera angles. I think some of that is due to me getting more comfortable with the script, and busting through the material quicker.
